Today's pic is of a "lower laker," a freighter that is almost exclusive to the great lakes area due to its unique shape. I have been reading The Living Great Lakes lately and they describe them quite a bit in the book. So here you have it.
This one was captured a few years ago, cool fact: this was taken at Whitefish Point, the place of the famed Edmund Fitzgerald sinking. Fun fact number two? Well that is that my Great Grandfather was on the ship just ahead of the Fitzgerald, the Arthur Anderson! How cool hey?
